Brought to you by GMX Media and developed by Gameyus, Will of Steel is a Real-time Strategy game inspired by recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Players assume the role of William Steel, a US Marine Corps officer and the son of a highly decorated general. Starting at Naval Academy, Will must learn fast if he is to guide the US Marine Corps through their tours of duty in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003.

Will of Steel has a number of interesting features. Perhaps the most striking is the game's heavy use of Voice Control. Though mouse, keyboard and microphone can all be used to give orders to the troops on the ground that you are overseeing, it is possible, say the game s makers, to control the action almost entirely by voice. This means selecting units, either by name or military call-sign, moving the camera around, zooming in and out can all be done simply by saying what you want.
Voice control has never been attempted in a RTS game before, and the idea is to make the player feel like a real general barking out orders, as well as giving them fast and easy control over the units at their disposal. At the start of the game, the units available are infantry, tanks, personnel carriers, reconnaissance and anti aircraft ordnance. Players must decide how best to use the different troop types to their advantage, and as the game - and Will Steel s career - progress, promotions and medals give the player access to new and exciting ways of attacking, such as air transport, air support, air strikes, long range missiles and special ops teams.

Another interesting feature is the dynamic sun , which rises and sets over the course of the day, with weather conditions such as rain and fog also make an impact on the success or failure of your missions. Will of Steel is a genuinely innovative working of modern day RTS combat.
History is full of examples of superior forces being defeated by a weaker or underestimated foe. Don’t be one of them! It is important that the player go into battle with a smart attack plan; one whose strategy and tactics take the enemy force, environment, terrain and the units available into account. If the battle starts to go awry, the player will need to make wise military choices and decide how to adjust their actions to counteract the strategy employed by the enemy forces in Afghanistan and Iraq to regain the tactical advantage. The battalion the player commands is comprised of, Infantry, Battle Tanks, Armored Personnel Carriers, and Recon Units. The engine used in Will of SteeL also allows the player to experience the difficulties of waging an extended battle that begins at dawn and stretches into the darkness of the twilight hours. Throughout the game, the player will also strive to improve their rank. With each victory, the player will either receive a medal or gain a promotion. With each new military conquest the player is awarded with Special Military Units that will then be at their disposal.
